A water vendor was shot dead by riding-in-tandem assailants in Barangay Perrelos, Carcar last Wednesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Ralph Quijano, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Investigators said the culprits may have a personal grudge against the victim, who was reportedly a neighborhood bully.

Before the incident happened at past 7 p.m., Quijano was helping the traffic enforcers in managing the flow of vehicles in Perrelos, which is affected by an ongoing road construction.

The assailants arrived on board a motorcycle, which stopped near the victim. The back rider, who was armed with a .45 pistol, disembarked and approached Quijano from behind.

The gunman then shot Quijano thrice. The victim was brought to the city’s public hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

A Scene of the Crime Operation team recovered three empty shells of .45 pistol that will be submitted for ballistics examination.(KAL)
