CEBU Vice Governor Agnes Magpale wants to sponsor P200,000 from the Cebu Provincial Government as a reward for anyone who can help identify the persons behind the murder of 16-year-old Christine Lee Silawan.

Magpale told reporters she will sponsor a resolution charging P200,000 against the budget of the Provincial Council for the Welfare and Children (PCWC) on the next Provincial Board regular session on Monday, March 18.

With Magpale's P200,000 bounty set, the total amount raised as bounty for Silawan has reached P1.8 million.

On Tuesday, the Police Regional Advisory Council-Central Visayas offered a P100,000 reward, while an American retiree based in Leyte also offered a P500,000 reward to urge those who may have witnessed Silawan's murder to come forward and tell the police about what they know.

On Wednesday, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza also offered a P1-million reward to help solve the crime.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
