WITH 13 days to go before January ends, the Visayan Electric Company had restored power supply to 75.18 percent of its 474,182 affected customers in its franchise area in Metro Cebu as of 12 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

The number of Visayan Electric's customers who still have no power supply had dwindled to 117,671 as of 12 p.m. Tuesday, 33 days after Typhoon Odette (Rai) devastated parts of central and southern Cebu on Thursday evening, December 16, 2022.

The power distributor had promised to restore power to 100 percent of its affected customers by January 31.

Visayan Electric has been repairing poles and power lines a day after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

Power distributors from outside Cebu deployed linemen to help Visayan Electric in fast-tracking the power restoration in its franchise area. (KAL)
