A 65-YEAR-OLD widower was found dead floating in the seawaters off Barangay San Isidro, San Fernando town in southern Cebu on Sunday morning, June 26, 2022.

Corporal Jhonrie Lacay, investigating officer of San Fernando Police Station identified the victim as Boyd Borbon Generalao, a native of Barangay San Isidro, San Fernando, Cebu.

Lacay told SunStar Cebu that in their initial investigation, at around 9 a.m of June 26, 2022, Generalao was participating in the clean-up drive in their Sitio and informed his close friend and neighbor, Jacquelyn Siarot that he would go swimming that morning.

Siarot and her husband were the only close friends of Generalao as he was living alone after his wife died.

According to Siarot, she said that swimming every morning was Generalao's routine.

The responding personnel of San Fernando police went immediately to the incident and discovered Generalao was floating on the sea surface, 200 meters away from the seashore lifeless, holding his goggles.

Lacay believed that Generalao had an attack of high blood pressure upon his swimming and said that there were no signs of foul play.

Lacay said that they tried to reach the San Fernando Rural Health Unit to assist the victim's body but there was no doctor available at that time.

Lacay also contacted the daughter of Generalao in Talisay City to claim his body at St. Francis Funeral Homes in San Fernando.

"Maayo ni siya nga tao , buotan ingon ang mga silingan niya ug looy paminawon nga siya ra nag inusara nga nagpuyo sa ilang balay kay walay kuyog." Lacay said.
