Woman dead in road mishap in Consolacion

A 51-YEAR-OLD woman died after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the national highway in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion in northern Cebu around 10 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023.

The victim was identified as Josefina Ejem, a resident of East Binalabag, Barangay Tayud. She was rushed to a hospital in Mandaue City but was declared dead on arrival.

Police Staff Sergeant Roel Aquino, traffic police investigator of Consolacion Police Station, said Ejem was hit by the motorcycle driven by Peter Capangpangan, 38, of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Capangpangan was reportedly driving his motorcycle when he failed to notice Ejem crossing the national highway.

Capangpangan was placed in the custody of Consolacion police and might face a case for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. (DVG/LMY)
