Tell it to SunStar: Can we tear down poll posters, tarpaulins?

Sunnexdesk

THERE is blatant violation in the manner our politicians are carrying out their campaigns.

In our neighborhood alone, we see campaign posters of candidates even way before the actual campaign period had started.

Why isn’t the Commisison on Elections going after these people? If they lack manpower to monitor all these violations, can the citizens take it upon themselves to tear down these posters and tarpaulins? These violations clearly indicate a lack of respect for the law among these people.

What sort of leaders can we expect if they behave in this manner? I think there should be a concerted effort among citizens to bring this on the discussion table, to educate our voters.--Leonardo L. Brigole
