Tell it to SunStar: Multiple intelligences

Sunnexdesk

THIS latest social media noise about a teacher posting Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Christiana Ganados’s academic performance while congratulating the beauty queen is a back-handed compliment.

I fully understand the laid-back mentality of this teacher. He must have come from the orientation that students must perform according to his standard.

This is like rating students to a swimming test when they have different skills. I think teachers with that kind of thinking should move forward. Students or people for that matter aren’t wired the same way. If we are to force a standard, we’re like converting our schools into canning factories, and not avenues for creativity where everyone’s uniqueness is encouraged. (By Reyna Cortado, Talisay City)
