Tell it to SunStar: Parking in Ramos St.

By Jer Mansueto

I WORK in a company along Ramos St. and although my workplace doesn’t have its own parking, I see to it that I properly park in a lot in a mall nearby.

However, I wonder why there are many cars that park along the four-lane Ramos St. Is that even right? I passed by there everyday and feel kind of annoyed by their presence, especially during peak hours when a four-lane road would have helped ease traffic.

I’d like to call the attention of the Cebu City Government not to allow parking along this road. Because this is certainly a man-made problem, and it can easily be solved by clearing this road.

Didn’t we require establishments to have their own parking areas?

I understand that some government personnel are collecting parking fees in this area, but somehow that shouldn’t be done at the expense of others who have to contend with terrible traffic.
