1) Distances (cutoff times): 15K (4 hours) - 21K (5 hours) - 42K (10 hours). The first two distances are symbolic. As we know, it was in "1521" when Magellan arrived in Cebu and brought with him Christianity. The cutoff times are generous. This is because of our lack of training the past months and the extra challenge of wearing a mask while running.

2) Run period: anytime from Jan. 8 to 25, 2021. Runners must finish the distance at one time (not staggered). This January period is the usual Cebu Marathon schedule, timed near the Sinulog. With this 17-day window, runners will have three weekend options to run the distance.

3) Registration Fee: P780. This fee includes the Finisher's shirt, E-certificate, and Finisher's medal. The Cebu Marathon shirt and medal, like they have been since this event started in 2008, was designed by CERC's very own (and multiple marathoner and Ironman finisher) Meyrick "Jacs" Jacalan.

4) Anybody from anywhere around the world can join. This is the beauty of the virtual race. With the finisher's kit (to be available in Feb. 2021), here are the options:

- For those in Cebu, the finisher's kit can be picked up at the Ayala Center Cebu

- For those outside of Cebu, just add P150 shipping fee and the kit will be shipped to you

- For those outside of the Philippines, you may still join but will have to ask a relative/friend to get the finisher's kit in Cebu or you may have it mailed anywhere in the Phils.

5) How to record your distance? Runners must wear a GPS-enabled device (smartwatch, phone, etc.). After the run, participants will be asked to submit the evidence (details to follow). Honesty is necessary. As the writer C.S. Lewis said, "Integrity (honesty) is doing the right thing even when no one is watching."

6) Join this historic race! Not only is this event helping celebrate the Philippines' 500 years of Christianity (in Cebu, the "birthplace," no less) but this marathon most likely will be the ONLY virtual Cebu Marathon in history. We expect the 2022 Cebu Marathon to return to it's normal, mass-based format.
