ADAM Diu Abdulhamid claimed the Philippines Games and Amusements Board welterweight crown after an eighth round stoppage of battle-worn veteran Jason Egera in the main event of “Sanman Bubble Series VI” on Oct. 29, 2021 at the Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.

Even though Egera looked sluggish and out of shape, he willingly traded heavy blows with Abdulhamid.

In the eighth round, Egera had enough and quit in the middle of the round.

The 26-year-old Abdulhamid improved to 17-9 with nine knockouts, while Egera, a former World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific bantamweight champion, dropped to 24-23-3 with 11 knockouts.

Former world title challenger Aston Palicte (27-4-1, 23 KOs) outclassed Roland Jay Biendima 15-10-1, 8 KOs) via a lopsided unanimous decision. All three judges had identical scores of 100-89.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
