Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is back on the court, this time in doubles action, as she teamed up with Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva to defeat Valeria Koussenkove from Spain and Warona Mdlulwa from South Africa, 6-2, 6-0, in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour at the W25 Platja D’Aro in Spain on Tuesday night.

The popular 15-year old and her partner did not take long to wrap up the lopsided match, claiming the first set in just 29 minutes. The second one was even shorter as Eala and Selekhmeteva blanked their opponents to grab the second set in just 14 minutes.

The win pushed the duo the quarterfinals where they will take on the tournament’s top seed, Vlada Koval and Sofya Lansere of Russia. That match will happen on Thursday.

The tennis phenom is in for a hectic week as she is also competing in the singles tournament. She will kick off her campaign on Wednesday with a match against Alba Carillo Marin who she has already defeated twice in her professional career. (JNP)
