The new JKA-NKK (Japan Karate Association-Nihon Karate Kyokai) Philippines Inc.-Argao Chapter opened at the Flores Mini Gym in Biaba corner Rizal St., Sitio Suba, Poblacion, Argao, Cebu on May 22, 2021.

Twenty-four young children and teens graced the occasion by undergoing basic technique exercises under the supervision of JKA-NKK Philippines president Shihan Dr. Paul Pioquinto, UCLM Dean of Criminology. The instructors for the chapter are Head Instructor Shihan Nilo Gunhoran and Representative Instructor Sensei Lt. Emmanuel “Manny” Flores, Ret. PNP.

Flores encouraged anybody to try karate to attain discipline, determination, diligence, good health and sportsmanship. Pioquinto shared to the participants and their parents that sports like karate could be a chance for the children to also attain a scholarship from schools and universities as he himself graduated from college as a scholar of the University of Cebu.

Anyone can enroll as the chapter accepts participants of all ages.
