Sunnexdesk

THE Dissenting Bad Boys bucked a slow start with a strong second half to dethrone the defending champion Gilas Defenders, 72-70, in the championship game of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu Basketball League in the Capitol Parish Gym.

The Bad Boys leaned on a furious second half to escape with a narrow win after being down by double digits, 37-23, at the half. The Bad Boys turned the tide in the second half as they took a two-point edge, 46-44, after the third quarter.

The former University of Cebu (UC) guard turned lawyer Kern Sesante delivered the crucial blow for the winning team, as he notched seven of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bad Boys seal the win.

Ryan Sojor and Edward Bauzon had an equally impressive game with 15 and 14 apiece for the Bad Boys, which was backed by team owners Prosecutor Bads del Prado and Atty. Mark Rosal. (RSC)
