Biasong downs Tapul in Talisay Mayor's Cup

HOTSHOT Christopher Obeso narrowly missed out on a rare triple-double as Biasong put down Tapul, 109-101, in the Seniors division of the Talisay City Mayor’s Cup basketball tournament at the Talisay Sports Complex on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Obeso was simply all over the floor as he had 20 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists along with three steals and three blocks to help Biasong extend their unbeaten streak to three games.

Joel Bensig had 13, June Labrica added 12 while Jojie Bas put up 11 for Biasong.

In the other Seniors game, Tangke destroyed Jaclupan, 108-82, to improve to 3-1. Paul Torrecampo had 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocked shots as Tangke put the game out of reach by dominating the middle periods, 57-36.

In the Juniors division, Maghaway routed Poblacion, 104-79, as both Ramel Eleguin and John Lasola put up 30 points each. Bret Eleguin added 21 while Jocob Gabasa did it all, piling up 11 points, 15 rebounds, six steals and three blocks, to help Maghaway capture its first win of the tournament.

Dumlog also beat Linao, 93-75, to even their record up at 2-2. (SunStar Cebu)
