The Blackwater Bossings and the Alaska Aces will be ushering in the brand new season of the Philippine Basketball Association as the two teams face off at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Blackwater will be looking to turn things around from their dismal performance in the 2020 Philippine Cup that saw them miss the playoffs. After trading away top studs Mac Belo and Don Trollano, the Bossings will be leaning on the backcourt of Simon Enciso and Baser Amer to steer them in this new season.

The game will come after a modest opening ceremony that starts at 11 a.m.

Alaska, meanwhile, will expect more out of Cebuano big man Kevin Barkley Eboña especially after the team traded away their man man, Vic Manuel, duing the offseason.

The second game at 3 p.m. will see the Rain or Shine E-Painters clash against the NLEX Road Warriors. Cebuano rookie Leonard Santillan will be making his debut against Kiefer Ravena and the Road Warriors’ own highly-touted rookie, Calvin Oftana.

And finally, the last game of the opening playdate will have the NorthPort Batang Pier battling the Meralco Bolts at 6 p.m. Cebuano big man Greg Slaughter will be making his debut for NorthPort after he was traded from Ginebra in exchange for Christian Standhardinger. (JNP)
