Capuloy beats Ando in Medellin

RHONVEX Capuloy totally outclassed Mel Ando and walked away with a one-sided unanimous decision at the Medellin Dockside in the northern town of Medellin last Sunday, April 21.

The 22-year-old Capuloy got the nod of all three judges with identical scores of 40-36.

Capuloy, who fights out of the Big Yellow Boxing Gym in Talisay City under the watchful eye of world-class trainer Christopher “Ping-Ping” Tepora, improved to 5-1 with three knockouts, while Ando dropped to 1-4.

Jerry Ambrad had a successful pro debut with a unanimous decision win over Kervent Aresco.

The scores were 40-36, 39-37 and 40-36.

Ambrad improved to 1-0, while Aresco fell to 0-3.

In the undercard, newcomer Elmer Naason needed just 21 seconds to knockout Wilbert Rota in the opening round.

Naason is 1-0 with a knockout, while Rota suffered his seventh straight loss at 0-7.

Cedie Noblefranca settled to a split draw with Rolly Dorong. Noblefranca is 0-4-1, while Dorong is 1-1-1. (EKA)
