Cebu bows down to Bicol in MPBL Lakan Season

CEBU-Casino Ethyl Alcohol’s chances of moving on to the playoffs took a massive hit after they were defeated by the Bicol Volcanoes, 67-77, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Season at the Makati Coliseum on Monday, November 25, 2019.

Bicol got off to a fast start and led, 42-26, after the first half. Cebu’s chances did not get any better in the third either, as Bicol held steady and even raised their lead to 17, 61-44, heading to the last period of action.

Cebu tried to make a run but Bicol held their ground to get their win and improve their win-loss record to 13-11. Cebu, on the other hand, dropped to 9-12 for the season.

Promising big man William McAloney led Cebu with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Kraniel Villoria had 12. Former Cesafi Mythical Five forward John Reel Saycon put up 11 points as well.

Bicol also had five different players score in double-figures, led by the 19 of Alwyn Alday. Ronjay Buenafe added 16 markers. (JNP)
