Cebu dance sports pair picks up 3 gold medals in SEA Games

CEBU’s Pearl Marie Cañeda and Wilbert Aunzo displayed their gracious forms en route to winning three gold medals in the dancesport competition of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games at the Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Cañeda and Aunzo danced their way to a gold medal in the Latin Samba category with a score of 32.450, outlasting Vietnam’s Uyen Nguyen and Truong Nguyen (31.950) and Lerson Shinawat and Patoomsriwiroje Preeyanoot (31.800) of Thailand.

The pair won their second gold medal in the Latin Cha Cha with a score of 31.650, beating Thailand and Vietnam anew.

Cañeda and Aunzo added another gold, this time, in rumba after garnering 31.950 points.

The Cebuano dancers were accounted for the three gold medals out of the eight golds of the Philippine dancesports team.
