CEBUANO big man Barkley Eboña had a breakthrough performance as he scored 24 points to lead the Alaska Aces to a dominant 120-82 victory over the Blackwater Elite in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the AUF Sports Arena & Cultural Center in Pampanga.
Eboña, who previously played for the Cebu Institute of Technology-University before moving on to Far Eastern University, played nearly flawless basketball as he shot 10-of-11 from the field and added two rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks to help the Aces even their win-loss record up at 2-2 and tie their victims in the standings.
Eboña played a huge role in Alaska’s blazing start as he scored seven in the Aces 24-8 surge after tip-off. It was all Aces from that point onward as their lead ballooned to a high of 41 points.
Robbie Herndon also had a stellar outing with 21 points while Vic Manuel added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Ed Daquioag led the Elite with 18 points. Blackwater though, just could not buy a bucket all night long as they finished the game with a miserable 32% shooting clip.
