Cebuanos Ando, Huang lift Builders

CEBUANO standouts Dave Ando and Zachy Huang had stellar performances to help the Builders Warehouse-University of Santo Tomas get its second win in the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup with a 106-93 rout of the Diliman College at the Paco Arena in Manila on Monday, March 9, 2020.

Ando, a former stalwart of the University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars, recorded a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds while Huang, a former ace of the Ateneo de Cebu and the Cebu-Casino Ethyl Alcohol in the MPBL, had 10 points and five boards.

UAAP MVP Soulemane Chabi Yo showed his pedigree with 24 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks as the Growling Tigers seized early leadership in the first conference.

Chabi Yo spearheaded the Builders Warehouse-UST’s 16-5 opener as it shot 5-of-10 from downtown in the first quarter and seize a 37-18 lead. It was all Growling Tigers from there, tasting 30-point leads numerous times in the second half as they hardly broke sweat for the second straight game after shooting 12-of-36 from threes in total, good for 33 percent.
