MARKSMEN from various police units, other law enforcement agencies and civilian gun enthusiasts strutted their wares in the second edition of the Cebu Federation of Beat Journalists (CFBJ) Shoot-For-A-Cause shooting competition on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at the Front Sight Gun Club Inc. in Barangay Tubod, Minglanilla, Cebu.

No less than Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia graced the event, which is in line with the annual celebration of the Cebu Press Freedom Week.

For this year’s event, the Cebu Federation of Beat Journalists (CFBJ), an organization composed of over 100 media practitioners from legitimate media outfits in Cebu, has partnered anew with the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7.

It was the second time that the Cebu-based media organization held a shooting competition. It served as a fund-raising event for the benefit of its members.

Also in attendance were Col. Antonito Cañete of the Regional Community Affairs & Development Division of PRO 7 and Jail Chief Supt. Efren Nemeño of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology 7

Proceeds of the event will serve as a support fund for CFBJ’s emergency and health program.

Aside from the trophies given, NUSTAR Resort and Casino raffled off a gift certificate for one overnight stay good for two at the newly opened world-class hotel at the South Road Properties in Cebu City.

Tinago Barangay Hall, shown here on May 2, 2024, received a “Notice of Violation” from Cebu City’s Task Force Gubat sa Baha for the concrete wall behind it that lies within the three-meter easement zone of the Estero de Parian. /
