Chua, Maamo top Phoenix Pulse golf

FERDI Chua and the young Ethan Maamo were the big winners in the Phoenix Pulse Technology Amateur Golf Tournament, which was played Friday in the Cebu Country Club.

Chua bagged the individual best gross honors with a score of three-over-par 33 points in the Stableford Scoring System. Maamo fired 10-under-par 46 points to bag the best net honors.

Ivan Nakila took the spotlight from the winners as he won P1 million and P100,000 worth of fuel for scoring an ace on hole No. 15.

Nino Bascon bagged the gross title for class A with his 32-point performance, while Jun Zambo finished second with 30.

The best net for class A was nailed by lawyer Marlo Cugtas with 37 points, edging Julius Pierre Neri in the countback. Neri settled for the runner-up honors.

Randy Cadiogan with 32 points won the best gross title for class B while runner-up honors went to Nelson Yuvallos with 31.

The best net honors for class B went to Hugo Saurat with 45 points and runner-up honors went to Jason Yu with 44.

Joy Anthony Ong took the class C best gross title with 27 points, while Dr. Peter Mancao had 24 to finish second.

In Class C, Jack Huang fired 44 points won the top net honors, while Bobby de Ocampo had 40 points for second place.

Vincent Montejo fired the best gross for class D with 23 followed by Mark Leviste with 22. (PR)
