CVFA bags 4th in Garuda Cup

THE Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) finished fourth in the Under-17 Plate Division of the Transtama Garuda International Cup II after losing the a battle-for-third match in Bogor, Indonesia.

CVFA lost to Tuah SSN SMK Seri Kota, 0-5, in the match for third place honors last July 3.

CVFA started the group stage with a 1-1 draw with Asiop Biru. CVFA had an impressive performance in its second match and destroyed Woodland Warriors FC, 5-0, before losing to Safin Pati FA, 0-2.

CVFA was relegated to the Plate Division after finishing third in Group C with four points from a win, a draw and a loss.

Safin Pati FA finished at the top of Group C with seven points, while Asiop Biru ended up with five points.

Safin Pati FA and Asiop Biru advanced to the Cup Division, while CVFA and Woodland Warriors FC dropped to the Plate Division.

CVFA beat FABD 1 in the Pate quarterfinals match but then lost to Pato Zapelo, 1-2, in the Plate semifinals.
