David Justin nabs third win

DAVID Justin racked up its third win in a row after it defeated AMICIS, 84-75, in the Consolacion 10th Mayor Alegado’s Cup Basketball Tournament on Sept. 15, 2019, at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

David Justin was down early, 17-24, but steadily made its way back and dominated the second half to capture its third win in as many games.

Former University of the Visayas Green Lancers standout Chris Perolino led the team owned by Dennis Maglasang with 16 points, while Rexon Moneva helped out with 15 of his own. Erwin Brigole and Joseph Cabahug chipped in 14 points each while Filvenson Collango added 10.

AMICIS, which dropped to an even 1-1, got 28 points from Lemar Dahil.

In the Midgets Category B, Tolotolo moved on to the next round after defeating Lanipga, 71-52. Sacsac also advanced after it routed Panas, 70-48. The Alilins — Joshua, Clyde and Arjay — combined for 49 points.

In the SK Juniors Category B, Polog nipped Lanipga, 58-54, while Panas beted Tilhaong, 84-71, behind Dhil Pitogo’s 21 points.

Over in the Seniors Category B, Tolotolo took down Panoypoy, 79-64, while Lanipga prevailed over Tilhaong, 88-79.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit.
