Duno eyes knockout against Gesta conqueror

Sunnexdesk

HARD-HITTING Filipino prospect Romero Duno is eager to knock out Juan Antonio Rodriguez on May 16 at the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California, and avenge his compatriot Mercito Gesta.

“We’ll try and knock him out in five rounds,” California-based Cebuano trainer Rodel Mayol, Duno’s coach, told SunStar Cebu.

“But if we can’t knock him out, we’ll try to get as much points. He likes to come in and he’s hard to knock out.”

Just last March, Rodriguez knocked out two-time world title challenger Gesta, a Cebuano based in California, in the ninth round in what was an upset at The Avalon in Hollywood.

“This will be a good fight.

It will be dangerous because Rodriguez knocked out Mercito Gesta,” said Mayol.

“Vengeance is what’s in Duno’s mind right now.” (EKA)
