Sunnexdesk

THE Eagles put up a huge comeback in the fourth quarter to stun the Rhinos, 76-74, in the winner-take-all final of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu City Season 11 in the Visayas Glass Gym in Guadalupe last Friday.

Former University of Visayas (UV) Green Lancers Randy dela Pisa imposed his will at the paint, scoring 11 of his 20 points to lead the Eagles’ rampage in the fourth quarter.

After Dela Pisa knotted the game at 74-all, his teammate Niño Belande stepped up in the dying seconds with a go-ahead basket to seal the win for the Eagles. Belande finished with 18 points, while Ryan Llanos chipped in 12 points.

Dela Pisa, the slam dunk champion in the defunct Cebu Amateur Athletic Association, was named the Finals’ Most Valuable Player MVP after carrying Eagles on his shoulders in the championship. (RSC)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
