THE road to redemption for Cebuano guard Eloy Poligrates now includes a Most Valuable Player award as he was given the honor in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

After separating from his hometown Cebu Sharks, the Poro, Camotes-native did not sulk and instead, used the situation as motivation for his comeback. The Southwestern University-product eventually signed up with the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers and has since averaged 19.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

More than the numbers, Poligrates’ leadership has led to the Skippers being undefeated in 10 games this season.

Along the way, Poligrates has also etched his name into the record books for the single highest-scoring performance in league history, after his 67-point outburst in their 141-97 win over iWalk last August 26. (SunStar Cebu)
