Fans looking forward to seeing celebrity basketball player Gerald Anderson see action in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup’s Mindanao Leg will be disappointed to know that he will be missing the tournament because of prior engagements.

MisOr Brew AuthoriTea Head coach Vis Valencia revealed that Anderson had difficulty fitting the competition’s schedule in his calendar after delays caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic resulted in the league moving its opening date from late May to early July.

“It's because he had a prior commitment. Kumbaga yung schedule niya has shoots and taping both out of the country and here. He was ready to play and has been working out with us. With the changes though, tinamaan na yung commitments niya,” shared Valencia.

The Mindanao Leg of the league was supposed to begin on May 30 in Dipolog. However, it was later moved to June 22 in Pagadian City. But with Zamboanga Del Sur still under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine until July 15 at the earliest, the league made the call to move to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay until further notice.

“Actually, ilang beses na niya pina-move yan para makalaro sa Mindanao leg. Kaso hindi na niya ma-move any further,” he said.

Despite Anderson’s absence, MisOr still boasts of a talented roster with the likes of Reil Cervantes, Mac Baracael, Jayson Ballesteros, Ronjay Buenafe, Joseph Sedurifa, and JR Cawaling. (JNP)
