Jung KO's Sabalde in Camotes

FORMER World Boxing Council (WBC) ABC Silver welterweight champion Jung Min Ho knocked out journeyman Anthony Sabalde on March 26, 2023 at the Big Apple Gym in San Francisco, Camotes Islands, Cebu.

The 29-year-old Jung dropped Sabalde in the second round. He then landed a wicked left hook to the body of Sabalde that sent him back to the canvas in the fourth round. The 30-year-old Sabalde, visibly hurt, was slow to stand up back to his feet and was counted out by referee Kristoffer Embodo at the 2:40 mark.

Jung successfully bounced back from a loss to Andy Hiraoka in his last fight and improved to 14-4-2 with four knockouts, while Sabalde lost his fifth straight fight and dropped to 13-13 with eight knockouts.

In the undercard, veteran Renen Portes (11-14, 6 KOs) ended a nine-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Speedy Boy Acope (3-1, 2 KOs), Johnro Taneo (3-0-1, 3 KOs) knocked out Grant Elorza (2-3-2, 1 KO) in the fourth round, Henry Flor (1-3) captured his first career win with a majority decision over newcomer Revin Crish Paclawon (0-1), John Rey Labajo (1-0-1, 1 KO) scored an impressive first round knockout against Nenito Anislag (0-1), George Sedillo (2-0-2) outclassed Jarel Escriber (0-1) and Ulymark Moras (2-1, 2 KOs) knocked out kickboxing standout Renante “Flash” Noblefranca (0-5) in the opening round.
