LAGTANG and Poblacion came away as winners in the Seniors division of the Talisay City Mayor’s Cup basketball tournament after they thrashed their respective opponents last Saturday night, September 7, 2019, at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

Lagtang beat Candulawan, 68-61, thanks to the stellar play of Ariel Bacacao who cashed in 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Kiven Lozano and Rhendy Alferez also helped out as they scored 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Poblacion also decimated Camp 4, 84-64. Brian Gerali took the lead in the lopsided match as he tallied a double-double of 15 points and 12 boards.

In the Juniors division, Cansojong crushed Camp 4, 87-63. Laurence Basallo was Cansojong’s sharpest weapon in that game as he scored 15 points. Jesu Hermosa and John Abapo also had 12 points apiece.

San Isidro also prevailed over Jaclupan, 84-61. Chason Licayan filled the stat sheet up with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocks to carry San Isidro to the victory.
