Maharlika breaks into PFL via first win

MAHARLIKA Manila FC logged its first professional victory after surviving an early storm with a 2-1 comeback win over Stallion Laguna FC in the Philippines Football League (PFL) on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

Stallion Laguna FC drew first blood in the 28th minute with a goal by Ibrahima N’Dour from pointblank range coming from a beautiful forward pass by Reynald Villareal.

Maharlika Manila FC woke up from its slumber in the second half with much-needed energy coming from the bench.

After subbing in for Carl Amisola in the 49th minute, Jose Montelibano scored the equalizer two minutes later. He struck inside the box from a well-timed through pass by MJ Libre.

Another substitute, Jeremy Theuer, immediately made his presence felt. Theuer, who came in for Libre in the 73rd minute, scored the winning goal two minutes later after subbing in.

Theuer scored from the right flank from a perfectly timed through pass by Charlie Beaton from the left side of the field.

Maharlika Manila FC earned its first win after making its debut in the pro league this season.
