MAHARLIKA FC makes Manila its official home after signing a partnership with the city.

The new pro club is now dubbed Maharlika Manila FC for its debut in the Philippines Football League (PFL).

“Manila and the Maharlikas go way back in Philippine history,” said the club’s general manager Choy Calungsod in a report posted at the PFL website. “It is with great intent that our club will steer Philippine football toward the right direction in the future. The partnership with the City of Manila is a dream come true.”

Maharlika Manila FC’s founder Anton del Rosario, Misagh Bahadoran and head coach Roxy Dorlas along with some of the club’s officials met with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno last Sept. 22 at the Manila City Hall to make the pact official.

Maharlika Manila FC, dubbed the “Koponan ng Masa” or the “Team of the Masses,” will be playing in the PFL against some of the best pro clubs in the country—defending champion United City FC, Kaya FC-Iloilo, Stallion Laguna FC, Mendiola FC and Azkals Development Team. (EKA)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
