Mandaue routs Danao

MANDAUE City got a crucial win against Danao City, 70-56, in its push for a playoff spot in the North Division of the Governor’s Cup 2018 Basketball Tournament.

Jared Michael Espina and Hansel Camacho both scored 12 points to lead Mandaue City, while Jun Isok added 11.

Argie Capul was the only Danao City player who reached double digits with 10 points.

In the other Bracket 1 game, Compostela beat Cordova, 74-61.

Volleyball

After losing its opener, Mandaue City has won three straight games and is now in second place at 3-1. Danao City also has a 3-1 record and sits in third. Consolacion is at the top with a 4-0 record. Compostela is fourth at 2-3, Carmen is fifth at 0-3, while Cordova is last at 0-4.

Meanwhile, in the Governor’s Cup volleyball tournament, Carcar City has clinched a berth to the championship round after beating Argao, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, in Game 3 of the South Division Finals in the Carcar City Sports Complex last Sunday night.

Carcar City bounced back from a 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 Game 2 loss to Argao at the Cerge Remonde Cultural and Sports Complex with an all-important win at Game 3 to advance to the championship match. (EKA, RSC)
