Mater Dei fights back to stun TMC

THE Mater Dei College rallied in the fourth to upend Trinidad Municipal College, 90-89, in the Seniors division of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association Season 9 basketball tournament at the University of Bohol gym in Tagbilaran City on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019.

Jenesis Apolonias was simply unstoppable in that game as he fired in a season-high 55 points to help MDC pull off the incredible win. Jumikes Casera and Javie Mamac also scored 10 points each for MDC to help them even up their win-loss record at 3-3 and pull TMC down to 4-4. In the Juniors division, the Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center snatched its first win of the season with a 99-92 victory over the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School. Michael John Balangan did it all for VDT as he compiled 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and eight blocked shots. Alnair Belderol led the team in scoring with 26 points while Daryl Jay Molina also waxed hot, punching in 21 markers. Francis Evangelo helped out with 13 points of his own. (JNP)
