OVERLIMIT Jiujitsu Association grapplers showed their might after dominating the 2019 ASJJF Philippine International Jiu-Jitsu Open on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Overlimit which was spearheaded by Japanese black belter Edison Kagohara bagged the overall championship after topping three of four events—the Masters, Adults and Kids.

The Atos claimed the second overall championship, while Deftac Ribeiro settled for third.

Atos, composed of fighters from South Korea, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City, prevented Overlimit from sweeping the four events after winning the No Gi championship.

Aside from the local grapplers, the two-day tournament was participated in by elite fighters coming from Asia and Russia.

Despite the stiff competition, Cebuanos strut their wares well.

Some of the gold medalists were Althea Mondigo, Princess Lourdes Bacatan, Hannah Gabiana, Dominic Miala and Andrei Cuizon of Overlimit, Josh Ybanez, Jeb Sleyther Secusana, Bianne Labra, Claire Canete, Jake Conado, Sandino Cinco and Jamie Boy Fabula of Atos, Gabrielle Benavidez of Pato and Rhyle Lugo of Deftac.
