PINOY MMA fighters Rolando Dy and Jenel Lausa suffered losses in UFC Fight Night - Cowboy vs. Edwards last Saturday in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Dy was stopped by New Zealander Shane Young in the second round in one of the show’s undercard fights. It was an action-packed fight with both warriors trading shots. In the second round, as Dy threw an overhand right, Young countered with a right elbow to the face that rocked the 26-year-old Filipino. Dy, the son of former boxing world champion Rolando Navarette, dropped to 9-7, while Young improved to 12-4. Despite the defeat, Dy walked away with an extra $50,000 in his pocket as he and Young won “Fight of the Night” honors. Lausa, in the meantime, succumbed to a second round rear-naked choke submission to Japanese veteran Yuta Sasaki. Lausa fell to 7-5, while Sasaki is now 21-5. (EKA)
