San Isidro nabs twin wins in Mayor’s Cup

BARANGAY San Isidro debuted in victorious fashion as it took down Tabunok, 95-82, in the seniors division of the Talisay City Mayor’s Cup 2019 Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament on Sept. 4, 2019 at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

James Fuentes led the winners with 24 points, while Kevin Navaja played an understated role in the win, tallying 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Jacob dela Cerna led Tabunok with 19 points.

Meanwhile in the Juniors division, San Isidro also emerged with a win over Mohon, 85-81. Martin dela Torre starred for the victors as he had 17 points highlighted by three triples, as well as three assists.

Tangke snatched its second win in a row after beating Biasong, 66-58. Rodel Baduya led the charge for Tangke as he had 19 points and three blocked shots.

Also keeping in step with the league-leader was Pooc, which thrashed Linao, 98-67. Rubino Singson spearheaded Pooc’s attack as he produced a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hans Bolo also masterfully orchestrated Pooc’s offense to the tune of 11 assists. (JNP)
