MARVIN Sevilla and Cynthia Uybengkee ruled their divisions in the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Friday Group Bowler for August at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center on Aug. 16, 2019.

Senior bowler Sevilla captured the men’s crown after scoring 1,052 in the five-game series, sneaking past fellow senior bowler Joseph Yu, who scored 1,046.

Sevilla, a 30-handicapper, was quick to gain control after scoring 191 in the first game. He faltered with a 168 in the next game but was able to recover with 203 in the third game. He put up 169 and 171 in the last two games to seal the six-point win over Yu.

Yu, also a 30-handicapper, had scores of 142, 183, 195, 193 and 183, respectively.

Senior bowlers Omar Marsangca and Terrence Williams finished third and fourth with scores of 1,001 and 977, while Ronan Barredo landed at fifth place with 973.

Uybengkee, on the other hand, topped the women’s class with a total score of 956. The 41-handicapper had rounds of 174, 145, 159, 131 and 142.

Cristilyn Tan finished second with a total score of 908 from rounds of 160, 114, 151, 146 and 157, while Johna Calipay settled third with a total of 901 from rounds of 161, 126, 149, 146 and 139.

Frenzy Williams finished fourth with 845 and Flor Bancale was fifth with 820. (RSC)
