SILOGAN ni Gian advanced to the semifinals of Season 6 of the Monday Squad Basketball Club Friendship Cup after they eliminated the Spartans, 67-56, at the Casals Village gym on Thursday, October 17, 2019.

Deadeye shooter James Cabilino torched the Spartans’ defense with 18 points while former University of Cebu Webmasters Kirby Cabrera and Kevin Quilantang had 10 and nine points, respectively.

Silogan ni Gian imposed its will early on and erected a 42-28 lead at halftime. Although the Spartans briefly had a run in the third period that trimmed the deficit down to seven, 44-51, Silogan ni Gian pulled away in the fourth to barge into the semis where they will be taking on the second-seeded Paragsa.

The other semifinal game will pit the undefeated San Remgio Properties against the third-ranked ASPA.(SunStar Cebu)
