THE University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers quickly bounced back from their shocking loss last time out as they vented their ire on the struggling Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats, 89-62, in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) high school basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

Rodney Abangan had the game of his life as he piled up 23 points to lead the Baby Lancers to their fifth win in six games. He scored 16 of his points in the second half as UV continued to pour it on after even after establishing a 40-23 lead at halftime.

Sam Melicor added 15 points, Buen Bulado chipped in 12 while hotshot wingman Albert Sacayan was all too happy to take a backseat in this lopsided game, as he scored just 10.

Sol Jade Tirol was CIT-U’s high-point man with 26 points while Darryl Versales contributed 13.

However, support came few and far in between as the next top scorer for the Baby Wildcats was Andrie Reyes with just six.

After opening the season with a win, CIT-U has since lost five games in a row. (SunStar Cebu)
