THE Philippines Football League (PFL) will have three matches in the second match day of the 2020 season inside the “Bubble” of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020.

Stallion Laguna FC makes its season debut against newcomer Maharlika Manila FC in the opening match at 9 a.m.

After finishing at a distant third in the 2019 PFL season, Stallion Laguna FC is looking for a better finish this season.

The club is led by veteran team captain Ruben Doctora along with striker Jesus Melliza, Argentinean Ricardo Sendra, Fitch Arboleda and Nathan Alquiros.

Maharika Manila FC just lost to Kaya FC-Iloilo in their season opener, 1-0. Despite the loss, the newbie club put on a gallant stand against one of the best clubs in Southeast Asia. It was Maharlika Manila FC’s defense that stood out led by goalkeeper Henri Bandeken and the defensive trio of Jerry Barbaso, Anton del Rosario and David Basa.

Defending champion United City Football Club (UCFC), formerly known as Ceres Negros FC, takes on Mendiola FC 1991 in the second match at 4:30 p.m.

Ceres Negros FC is looking for its second win after a successful season opener with a 1-0 victory over Azkals Development Team (ADT).

With the key players of the championship squad intact, UCFC is looking at another dominant season in the PFL.

Mendiola FC 1991, on the other hand, also kept the team’s core and added eight new players for the season. Mendiola FC 1991 finished fifth out of seven teams last year.

In the final match of the day, Kaya FC-Iloilo faces off with the youthful ADT at 8 p.m.

Kaya FC-Iloilo looked good in its season opener and is looking to dominate a young team in ADT, which is composed of players from the Azkals Under-23 squad.

ADT, in the meantime, held its own against a very talented club in UCFC in its season opener.

All matches will be aired live on the PFL’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. / EKA
