Toledo City 2 wins Tatluhan Chess event

TOLEDO City 2 bagged the championship in the cash-rich 2018 Salon De Rose Tatluhan Open Chess Tournament at the Barracks Chess Club, Robinsons Galleria Cebu last Dec. 23.

Toledo City 2, which was composed of Board 1 to 3 players Ronald Ganzon, Glicerio Pardillo Jr. and Jerome Cabantan, won the P20,000 cash purse and the title.

Toledo City 2 accumulated 12 points from five wins and two draws in the tournament that used a 7-Round Swiss System with time control of 25 minutes+5 seconds increment.

Jethro Esplanada, Armecito Lumbab and Felix Poloyapoy Jr. of Team Accept finished at second place, while Mario Mangubat, Johnny Wellen and Erwin Ababat of D’ Scorpion Knights settled for third place.

Anthony Makinano, Michael Joseph Pagaran and Genesis Apog of Kingslayer took fourth place, and Joel Pacuribot, Carlos Moreno III and Cephas Seguisabal of Cebu Progress Marketing placed fifth.

The second to fifth placers won P12,000 and P8,000, P5,000 and P3,000, respectively. RSC
