THE University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters made sure to capture the third place trophy this time around, as they defeated the University of San Carlos Warriors, 57-53, in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

UC led most of the way but had to withstand a comeback try by USC down the stretch. Fortunately, much like he has for most of the season, Darrell Shane Menina scored a lay-up with under a minute to go to seal the victory and allow the Webmasters to end the season on a winning note.

Tosh Sesay, UC’s big man from Sierra Leone, led UC in scoring with 18 points while Menina, who played his very last game for UC, pitched in 14 markers.

Kurt Trangia led USC, which fell behind by as much as 19 points, with 12 points, while Nigerian big man Sommy Managor added 11 markers.
