Valenzuela signs two Cesafi stars

THE hoops dreams of former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) three-point champion Tristan Albina remained alive as he got signed with the Valenzuela City-Carga Backload Solution in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

The MPBL squad recently held a tryout for aspiring players on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020 at the Cebu City Sports Institute.

In the end, Valenzuela City targeted the former University of the Visayas standout to bolster its roster, which is currently being led by its lone all star, Paulo Hubalde.

Also set to be signed by Valenzuela is Cesafi Mythical Five guard Darrell Shane Menina.

The development is a welcome one for the pride of Dumaguete City as he admitted to almost giving up on his basketball dreams after not being able to suit up for the University of Cebu this past season because of issues involving his academic records. (JNP)
