Yanong pops in Bubble fight

Sunnexdesk

REYMOND Yanong’s luck has finally run out after he was knocked out in one round by American prospect Genaro Gamez last July 8, 2020 (RP time) inside The Bubble of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 24-year-old Gamez unleashed a barrage of punches and landed a wicked right straight flush on Yanong’s head that dropped him to the canvass in the opening round. Yanong, still disoriented by the vicious punch, was counted out by referee Celestino Ruiz in the 2:59 mark.

Gamez, who was coming off a long layoff, improved to 10-1 with seven knockouts, while Yanong dropped to 11-6-1 with nine knockouts.

Last month, the 26-year-old Yanong won a split decision against Clay Burns inside The Bubble.

The Filipinos are 2-5 inside The Bubble with “Magic” Mike Plania and Yanong as the only Pinoy fighters that have won since the resurgence of boxing from the lull due to the Covid-19 pandemic. (EKA)
