THE upstarts from the Big Yellow Boxing Gym are all geared up for action in an ARQ Promotions boxing show in Alcantara on April 18, 2021.

Maurino Agum, Christopher Caburog and Patrick Gancuangco are the Big Yellow boxers that are seeing action in the event.

“These kids have huge potential in boxing. It’s very important for them to win their fights,” Big Yellow Boxing Gym head coach Christopher “Ping-Ping” Tepora told SunStar Cebu.

Agum is up against John Paul Gabunillas in a flyweight fight.

Agum last saw action on March 9, 2020 at the Robinsons Galleria, wherein he beat Marjun Bato by unanimous decision.

Gabunillas, on the other hand, had a longer layoff and last fought on Dec. 21, 2019. He stopped veteran Garry Rojo in two rounds at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in Naga City.

Agum is 2-0 with a knockout, while Gabunillas is 3-1 with two knockouts.

Caburog, in the meantime, is facing newcomer Neil Cañete.

Caburog made his pro debut on Feb. 8, 2020 and beat fellow rookie Joshua Unabia via a convincing unanimous decision. Caburog is 1-0.

Meanwhile, Gancuangco locks horns with Zandro Librador in a featherweight contest.

Guancuangco and Librador are both making their pro debut.

The show is headlined by Ultimate Boxing Series (UBS) flyweight tournament winner April Jay Abne (5-0, 2 KOs) against former Omega boxer Royder Lloyd Borbon (6-9-1, 6 KOs).
