UNDEFEATED prospects John Michael Zulueta and Herlan Gomez are seeing action in Thailand on Aug. 3.

Zulueta will face off with heavy-handed Thai Somphon Banyaem in a six-rounder at the RCA Plaza-Space Plus Bar in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 26-year-old Zulueta is coming off a fifth round technical knockout of Indonesian veteran Jack Amisa in Thailand last May 14. Before his fight with Amisa, Zulueta beat Mark Anthony Florida via a fourth round stoppage to win the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Asia and Asian Boxing Federation flyweight belts in Taguig City in 2019. He’s also a former IBF Oceania-Orient flyweight champion after beating Ariston Aton by unanimous decision also in 2019.

Following a five-fight slump, Banyaem bounced back and is now riding a three-bout winning streak. He’s fresh from a second round technical knockout of Mongkol Kamsommat.

Zulueta is 12-0-2 with five knockouts, while Banyaem is 6-6 with six knockouts.

On the other hand, Gomez slugs it out with undefeated Thai knockout artist Sarawut Jiamthong in an eight-rounder.

Gomez just fought in Thailand last May 28 and beat Parin Luangpon by unanimous decision.

Jiamthong, in the meantime, just made his pro debut last December. He demolished all his opponents in four rounds or less. He’s coming off a third round technical knockout of Natthapol Wongzuy.

Gomez is 4-0 with two knockouts, while Jiamthong is 6-0 with six knockouts.
