Gilford A. Doquila

THE National Food Authority in Davao region (NFA 11) is expecting 100,000 sacks of rice to arrive in Davao by August of this year.

“Actually it should have come by July but we are still waiting because Davao is the third region which will be unloaded for the bags of rice,” NFA 11 manager Leonila Selpa said in an interview at NFA office, Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

Selpa said the commodity was imported from Thailand.

“The route of the drop-off in Mindanao comes in three location first in Zamboanga City, next in General Santos City, and finally here in Davao,” Selpa said.

She added these bags will be allocated to retail stores and sold at P32 per kilogram but can be purchased at P27 at NFA rolling stores.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
