Davao Region’s supply of dressed chickens down in Q1

AS of the first quarter of 2018, Davao Region posted a 9.22 percent decline in the number of chickens dressed in dressing plants in the entire region.

During the first quarter of last year, the region was able to reach the record 8,288,818 dressed chickens. However, for the same period of this year, there was only 7,524,424. The decline can directly be traced from the 10.34 percent decline of dressed chickens of Davao City alone to 7,195,375 chickens from 8,025,264 chickens during the first quarter of last year.

However, there was a 9.71 percent increase for the chickens dressed by Davao del Norte to 3,515 heads from only 3,204.

Davao del Sur was also noted to have increased number of dressed chicken with a 25.04 percent growth to 325,534 heads from only 260.350 chickens first quarter of 2017.

Only Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao City had records of dressed chickens from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
