GLOBE Telecom Incorporated is committed to help the city government of Davao promote tourism.

As the city celebrates Araw ng Dabaw 2019, Globe expressed its support for the city’s tourism efforts by holding a series of activities at designated tourist spots in the city such as the Light Garden Park at the Santa Ana wharf.

During a media forum on Friday, March 15, Globe external affairs head for Mindanao James Lopez said that they are partnering with the local government of Davao to further market the city as a tourist destination.

"We have lined up activities for the whole weekend. We will be using the whole Sta. Ana Wharf for our activity," he said, adding that they chose the area as the convening place on March 17 since it was already developed by the city.

He said they have invited local talents, varsity students from the schools around the city, and performers like Juan Karlos Labajo.

"Our events in the past are usually held in Roxas or San Pedro streets because yun ang gina-promote ng city government. But now, we want to develop Sta. Ana wharf as the new tourist spot in Davao," Trade Marketing head for Mindanao Crystal Madria said Friday.

"That is what we want the tourists and visitors to tell na to visit din the lighted tunnel. It is very nice there," she added.

The group is expecting 5,000 to 6,000 spectators who will join the activities they have prepared.

Lopez said the admission is free for everybody and assured that security will be tight in the area also with the help of the city's security forces.
